The Most Iconic Ferrari Cars of All Time
Share
Ferrari is the most evocative name in motoring. These are the prancing horses that became legends, the cars that turned a Modenese workshop into a global symbol of speed, passion and beauty. Each one tells a story of racing glory, artistry and sheer Italian flair.
We have chosen these icons not by numbers alone, but by the impact they made on the road, on the track and in the imagination. Explore each one below, and follow the links to dive into the full story behind every legend.
Ferrari 250 GTO
Only 36 were ever built, and that scarcity has made the 250 GTO the most valuable car on the planet, with examples trading hands for tens of millions. Beneath its sculpted bodywork sat a glorious V12 that dominated GT racing in the early 1960s. It is, quite simply, the holy grail of the collector world.
Ferrari Daytona
The 365 GTB/4 was Ferrari's defiant answer to the mid-engined revolution, keeping its thundering V12 firmly up front. With a top speed of 174mph it was the fastest road car of its day, a true grand tourer with a vicious turn of pace. Its long bonnet and crisp Pininfarina lines remain achingly beautiful.
Ferrari Testarossa
No car captures the excess and glamour of the 1980s quite like the Testarossa. Those side strakes were not just for show, they fed air to radiators flanking a flat-twelve engine that howled all the way to the redline. It became a poster on a million bedroom walls and an instant cultural icon.
Ferrari F40
Built to mark Ferrari's 40th anniversary, the F40 was the last car personally signed off by Enzo himself. Stripped of carpets, door handles and any pretence of comfort, it was a twin-turbocharged missile that became the first road car to crack 200mph. Raw, brutal and utterly uncompromising, it remains the purist's dream.
Ferrari Dino 246
Named after Enzo's late son Alfredino, the Dino never officially wore a Ferrari badge, yet it is one of the prettiest cars the marque ever produced. Its delicate curves and jewel-like V6 proved that a smaller engine could deliver pure driving joy. For years it was overlooked, but today its genius is rightly celebrated.
Ferrari 308 GTS
Forever linked with a certain moustachioed Hawaiian private investigator, the 308 GTS brought Ferrari into living rooms across the world. Its removable targa roof and shapely Pininfarina body made it the most desirable open-top of its era. Approachable yet thrilling, it introduced a generation to the prancing horse.
