The replacement for the DB7 was a great improvement in that this could really be viewed to be a real Aston Martin and not merely a parts bin amalgam of Ford and Jaguar bits! External styling was more angular than before but where the big improvement came was in the quality of the internal fit and finish which was capable of standing comparison with the then contemporary Bentley Continental GT introduced in 2005. The updated V12 engine was capable of 0-60 in 4.1 seconds but there were also numerous complaints about lack of rear space and a sub-standard navigation system. However, dynamically a great Aston that could run a Porsche a close second!
